Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Confidence, discipline, and anti-bully self-defense for kids starting at age 5 — taught in a fun, supportive, family environment.
“Barrick BJJ is an excellent place with great instructors who are very kind and patient with kids.”
Our kids program does far more than teach jiu-jitsu. Kids build confidence, learn respect and self-control, and pick up real self-defense — all in a fun, supportive environment where the whole team cheers each other on.
More than technique
Kids don't just learn how to do a move — they learn the why, and when it's appropriate to use it. Those lessons in discipline, respect, and self-control carry off the mats and help them grow into confident, capable adults.
A true anti-bully skill
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches a smaller person how to control a larger one using leverage and technique instead of size or aggression. It's one of the most effective, confidence-building skills a child can learn.
The details
- Starting at age 5 — we group by skill level and can split classes when needed, and kids move up to Teen BJJ as they're ready
- Up to two classes a week — a steady routine for learning and practice
- No experience needed — beginners are welcome at any class on the schedule
- Tournaments are optional — usually a few a year for kids who want them, never required to advance
Your child's first week is free — come try a class and see the community for yourself.
